The Value of a Stream

Artists' Use of Streaming Services

You are invited to participate in a study of how music artists use streaming services in 2021. It is aimed at DIY, independent, and unsigned music artists, who use intermediaries (like DistroKid or TuneCore) to distribute their music to streaming services.

The study is being conducted by:

in the Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Language and Literature at Macquarie University.

 

If you decide to participate, the survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey consists of basic demographic information and 10 questions, including multiple-choice selections and short answer questions.

Any information or personal details gathered in the course of the study are confidential, expect as required by law. No individual will be identified in any publication of the results. Only the research team will have access to the data. If you are interested in the outcomes of this research, please contact Dr Steve Collins (stephen.collins@mq.edu.au). Participation in this study is entirely voluntary: you are not obliged to participate and if you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without having to give a reason and without consequence.
