Participant Information and Consent Form

Name of Project: Research on Economic Decision Making

You are invited to participate in a study on economic decision-making. The purpose of the research is to investigate how people make investment decisions under uncertainty. 

Before you can participate in this study, you will need to read the following and confirm your consent. 
Principal investigators: Dr Danielle Kent and Suleman Khan.

If you decide to participate, you will be asked your preferences regarding the investment prospect. The experiment will take approximately 20 minutes. 

Any information or personal details gathered in the course of the study are confidential, except as required by law. Only the researchers will have access to the data and no individual will be identified in any publication of the results.

Participation in this study is voluntary: you are not obliged to participate. If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason and without consequence. We will communicate with you again in the near future to provide further details on how you can access the project outcomes. The ethical aspects of this study have been approved by the Macquarie University Human Research Ethics Committee.  If you have any complaints or reservations about any ethical aspect of your participation in this research, you may contact the Committee through the Director, Research Ethics & Integrity (telephone (02) 9850 7854; email ethics@mq.edu.au).  Any complaint you make will be treated in confidence and investigated, and you will be informed of the outcome.
